Criteria:  Most creative use of nanotechnology in the design of the city.

Criteria:  Most accessible design for people with disabilities, the elderly and others with mobility impairments. Design that accommodates the most innovative systems. ( e.g. transportation, water, and wastewater) for a community.

Criteria:  Most efficient integration of infrastructure facilities (transportation, water, sewer, power, etc) considering land use constraints and public impacts such that the separate infrastructure components are designed to create an efficient and holistic system.

Best Management of Water Resources

Criteria:  Water supply conflicts, such as the groundwater vs. surface water users and junior vs. senior water rights holders, that are happening in Idaho today will only get more complicated and difficult to solve as development places increased demand on limited water supplies. This award is for efficient design of water treatment and distribution for human consumption, agriculture, industry, recreation, and fire protection.

Criteria:  City design that includes the use of innovative construction materials & techniques and also the overall construction of the model.
